‘Cookalong’ with Fox/Google via Google+ Hangouts
Well here’s a different way to do a cooking show on the web: Fox Broadcasting is teaming up with Google to launch a new hour-long cooking series, which will be streamed live via Google+ Hangouts before being made available on Fox’s YouTube channel.
“Cookalong” is actually tied to Fox’s reality competition series, “MasterChef,” which is produced by Shine America and One Potato Two Potato. In the live web show, up to four fans will be able to cook and interact with a finalist from season four of “MasterChef” as he or she makes their favorite summer dish. In the first episode, which will air live on Tuesday, June 18 at 9pm ET, finalist Krissi Biasiello will show up to prepare her favorite summer fried chicken recipe. Future episodes are scheduled for July 9, July 23, August 6, August 20, and September 3, with each streaming live on “MasterChef”’s Google+ page from 9–10pm ET. Fox will then make the episode available on demand on its YouTube channel.
The “Cookalong” series will be hosted/moderated by Laura Vitale, creator and star of “Laura in the Kitchen” on YouTube. Additional finalists slated to appear on the show will be announced closer to the episode dates.
