PR firm Sunshine Sachs has launched a sister company that will focus on developing and producing digital, TV, and film content.
As first reported by Deadline, Madica Productions is open for business and plans to develop projects that include unscripted and digital content from Sunshine Sachs’ roster of Hollywood and corporate clients as well as interesting projects from non-clients. Sunshine Sachs currently represents A-list talent like Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck, Tyler Perry, and Natalie Portman, among others.
The studio will be overseen by Jeff Tahler, a former senior vice president within FremantleMedia’s Global Content division. As managing director of Madica Productions, Tahler will be responsible for the content the studio chooses to produce.
“We are eager to develop and produce the type of content that reflects our wide range of passions and interests,” said Tahler. “Today, that can be anything from short-form digital series to a big-budget feature film, and we will be developing stories for all platforms.”
Madica has in fact already begun development on three untitled projects, one of which is a “mid-budget” feature film.
Video Ink will be interested in seeing what sort of digital programming comes out of this.
