The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, the organization that runs the annual Webby Awards, has added several new high-profile judges for the 18th Annual Webby Awards. The expanded judging panel includes: Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti, producers of the Netflix political drama “House of Cards”; Ken Marino and Erica Oyama, the husband and wife duo behind “Burning Love” on Yahoo; June Cohen, executive producer at TED Media; Droga5 founder David Droga; and Steve White, the inventor of the GIF.
IADAS is also now accepting submissions for the 18th Annual Webby Awards. The early entry deadline is set for November 1. Nominees will be announced in April 2014, with the annual Webby Awards ceremony to be held later that spring.
In some ways an answer to what the Emmys are for TV and the Oscars are for films, The Webby Awards look to honor all things digital media, from web series and branded entertainment to websites, mobile apps, interactive advertising, and social media.
Kevin Spacey, along with web video newsmakers like Jerry Seinfeld, Marino and Oyama, and Red Bull Stratos took home prizes at this year’s Webby Awards.
