On its first day, the Tribeca Film Festival has announced the winners of the second annual #6SecFilms competition.
This year, the competition received 536 entries from Vine creators in 24 countries, according to TFF. A judging panel that included Webby Awards founder and filmmaker Tiffany Shlain, as well as comedian Julie Klausner, James Curleigh, Bethann Hardison, and Vine star Jerome Jarre selected the four winners in the categories of drama, comedy, animation, and genre.
Animation: Matt Willis, Australia, for “Wrap Dancer”
Drama: Jessica Harmon, USA, for “Addiction”
Comedy: Albert Birney, USA, for “Sylvio Lets Go”
Genre: Lawrence Becker, USA, for “The Vortex Finds a Host”
#6SecFilms Audience Award: Evan Hilton, USA, “Shaking Free”
Winners will receive individual meetings with GrapeStory, a mobile marketing agency and production house founded by Gary and AJ Vaynerchuk, and Jerome Jarre, who has more than 4.6 million followers on Vine.
