Cinedigm is partnering with The Dove Foundation, an organization that provides reviews and ratings for family-friendly and faith-based content, to launch a new subscription-based over-the-top video service.
The Dove Movie Channel will feature films from the Cinedigm library, as well as various other content acquired for the service and original programming. All content on the service will have the “Dove Seal,” ensuring that it’s appropriate for viewing by kids and in a family setting.
Cinedigm didn’t disclose when the service would launch or what sort of pricing options would be available once it goes live.
The Dove Movie Channel would be the third direct-to-consumer property from the company, which has primarily been known as a distributor of film and TV content.
That’s changing this year. In May, Cinedigm launched Docurama, a digital channel devoted to documentary films and non-fiction programming. In the fall, it will debut the Comic Con-themed Con TV in partnership with Wizard World.
Earlier this week, Cinedigm expanded its Digital Networks team, which oversees the development, launch, and operations for all direct-to-consumer products from the company.
