Just days after launching Victorious, Bing Chen met up with Jocelyn Johnson at #VIPopUp to share exciting details about the new mobile platform and the opportunities it holds for creator community represented at VidCon. Formerly of YouTube, Chen introduced Victorious with a mission to “power and unite the world’s most creative communities…by helping digital properties or artists transform themselves into premium mobile apps.” Chen described these apps as “supercommunities of the superstars,” which will serve the fans who want deeper connections with the artists and creators they care about most.
For creators, Victorious offers various revenue streams designed to best suit them based on their unique needs and goals, from scalable ad-revenue to in-app purchases and e-commerce. As a creative mind in the industry, Chen has high hopes for its future thanks to networks created by Victorious and events like VidCon. He says, “I want to get 2010 back. I want us to feel like we are truly a cohesive creative community that can help each other again.”
