Niko and Sam, the brains and faces behind CorridorDigital, caught up with the VideoInk at the #VIPopUp studio to talk about the experience at their “fourth-and a half” VidCon. The duo discussed how while they are known for their YouTube channel, their creative sights are set on long-form content. “Our passion has always been storytelling, and it’s hard to tell a story when you only have five minutes,” said Niko, “so we always want to do a longer narrative piece.”
The team is currently working to develop the script for “Tether” into a longer content, which they hope to shop around upon its completion. The long-term challenge, for short-form creators, is how to keep their YouTube fanbase engaged during the development of a project that very well may air off of the channel. Sam eloquently described YouTube as “our currency in this world right now and in our careers.” They’ve got to maintain this currency for the sake of their audiences and use it in the industry as they move their creative ambitions forward.
