Defy Media is revamping its popular web series “Man at Arms,” which airs on the company’s Awe Me YouTube channel.
The show is known for taking famous weapons from video games, movies, and TV shows and recreating them in the real world.
The first season, which debuted alongside the Awe Me channel 16 months ago, starred blacksmith Tony Swatton. According to data from Tubular Labs, the series has netted 75.9 million views across more than 40 videos on YouTube — a significant chunk of Awe Me’s 87 million lifetime views.
No doubt Defy wants to continue that success. With the new season, which will be called “Man at Arms: Reforged” and be hosted by Maryland-based blacksmiths Baltimore Knife and Sound, there’s a twist: Instead of recreating popular weapons that already exist, the show will look to mash two famous weapons into one super-weapon. Think “Batman Wolverine Claws” or “Captain America Ninja Stars.”
“Man at Arms: Reforged” debuts on July 14.
