Cameo, the video recording app acquired by Vimeo this past March, just launched an update that brings more of a music focus to the app.
One new Cameo feature now lets users insert music from a variety of indie artists into their videos as soundtracks, using a catalogue available through the app. Another makes it easier to upload these videos directly to Vimeo.
Additonal music elements now on Cameo include a new soundtrack browser and song previews. The app’s home screen also promotes particular indie musicians, seeking to bring exposure to newer artists. All in all, the changes mostly work towards further merging video and music on the Vimeo-owned app.
The reinvented Cameo is now available on the App Store. It is only made for iOS devices thus far.
