Paramount Digital Entertainment is partnering with actress Elizabeth Banks for its next digital project — the college comedy “Resident Advisors.”
Described as a “workplace comedy set in the most hormonally-overloaded, sexually active, out-of-control workplace in the world: a college dorm,” “Resident Advisors” will follow a group of residential advisors who must navigate their tricky college world of sex, drugs, and midterms.
The cast will include Ryan Hansen (“Two Broke Girls,” “Burning Love”), Jamie Chung (“Sin City: A Dame to Kill For”), Alison Rich (CollegeHumor Originals), Andrew Bachelor (“House of Lies”), and Graham Rogers (“Revolution”), with a guest appearance from Anna Camp (“Pitch Perfect”).
Banks will executive produce the series alongside Max Handelman (“Pitch Perfect”) through their Brownstone Productions banner. Ira Ungerleider (“Friends”) is on board to oversee the project as both executive producer and director, with Natalia Anderson also on to produce. The series is based on a pilot script written by Taylor Jenkins Reid and Alex Reid.
“We are thrilled to be collaborating with Paramount Digital Entertainment on this outrageously funny take on modern day dorm life in America,” said Banks in a statement. “Amy [Powell, president of Paramount Digital Entertainment] and her team have a terrific track record for creating boldly entertaining content in this comedic medium and we look forward to a successful partnership.”
Previous projects distributed by Paramount Digital Entertainment include “Burning Love,” which was produced by Red Hour Digital and Jon Stern/Abominable Pictures and aired multiple seasons on Yahoo, and “The Hotwives of Orlando,” which was produced by Paul Scheer and Stern/Abominable and currently airs on Hulu.
