Crackle will debut the second season of “Cleaners,” an action-comedy about two hit-women on the run, on August 19.
The show stars Emmanuelle Chriqui and Emily Osment as two hit-women who are being chased by their vengeful boss, played by Gina Gershon. Other cast members include David Arquette as an FBI agent and Missi Pyle as a woman who’s in cahoots with Gershon’s character.
Consisting of 12 half-hour episodes, season two will pick up with Chriqui and Osment’s characters on a small Caribbean island, about to cash out on a deal that is not what it seems. Meanwhile, Arquette’s character is recruited by a CIA agent for a secret mission.
Crackle, which is owned by Sony Pictures Television, first announced the renewal of the show in January during the annual TCA winter press tour — right before the cast and crew commenced shooting in Puerto Rico. Like the first installment, season two was also written and directed by Paul Leyden.
“Cleaners” is executive produced by Leyden, Chriqui, Anne Clements, John Schwarz, Michael Schwarz, Luca Scalisi, and Sam Worthington.
