Tom Lesinski, who recently departed Legendary Entertainment as its president of digital content and distribution, has formed Energi Entertainment. The new shingle will focus on developing and producing original content for digital and TV platforms.
In addition to the company launch, Lesinski and Energi have announced a two-year first-look deal with Legendary Television and Digital Media.
The executive will also remain attached to several projects he was working on before he exited Legendary, including the comic-book adaptation “Dead Rising” for Crackle, as well as a recently sold “Kelly and Molly” pilot script. New projects that Lesinski/Energi and Legendary will partner on include Alexandra Milchan’s “Life Behind Bars,” “Pet Therapist,” and a reboot of Syd and Marty Krofft’s “Electra Woman & Dyna Girl.”
“For the past 10 years, I’ve had a front row seat to the dynamic and ever expanding marketplace for original digital entertainment,” said Lesinski in a statement. “I am thrilled to pursue my goal of creating the leading production company in the digital space.”
Prior to Legendary, Lesinski founded Paramount Digital Entertainment, where he oversaw digital projects like “Burning Love” and an animated “Zoolander” series.
