BeautyCon held its third annual event this past August in Los Angeles, honoring digital beauty gurus like Bethany Mota and Amanda Steele (MakeupByMandy24). Now, BeautyCon’s chief executive Moj Mahdara has gathered even more resources for the company via a recent $2 million seed funding round, according to TechCrunch.
Investors in BeautyCon include Heart Corporation, Ken Hertz, Eric Greenspan (both talent lawyers), Rachel Zoe Ventures, and Queensbridge Venture Partners.
BeautyCon brings together YouTube beauty talent and their fans, largely women ranging from age 18 to 25 (and younger, if we’re being realistic). In addition to Mota and Steele, talent present at the most recent BeautyCon included Kandee Johnson, Miss Lynn, Jeannie Mai, and Aimee Song.
NYX Cosmetics, Covergirl, and Salon Ferfect counted among the brands at the convention, along with beauty- and fashion-focused YouTube network StyleHaul.
