VHX has launched a Subscriptions platform, which will allow creators to make their own, branded video subscription services.
Since VHX already lets users sell their content directly to audiences, it’s not that big of a step for the company to offer a different selling structure. Via Subscriptions, users can offer full access to their content in exchange for monthly or yearly payments. Creators can also name their price and packaging specifics, and there’s no upfront cost to use the service.
So far, YouTube creators Black&SexyTV are among the first to (beta) test VHX’s Subscriptions service. Numa Perrier of Black&SexyTV explained why the offering looked so attractive. “On YouTube, we made in a year what we make in a single month on VHX,” she said.
VHX is available on Roku, iOS, Chromecast, and various other connected devices. Clients include Comedy Central, Vice Films, Red Bull Media House, and Kevin Spacey among others. Just yesterday, the direct-to-viewer distribution service announced its partnership with Zype, letting clients of the publishing platform sell their content directly to consumers through VHX.
