The daily series, hosted by Alex Hudgens and written by Esteban Serrano, will look back at a memorable moment in hip-hop history that occurred on that day. Producers include Corey Moss and Michael Callahan for Hearst Digital Studios and Insanul Ahmed, Adam Hammer, and Marc Fernandez for Complex.
The series is based on a format that Hearst Digital Studios originally launched with the Houston Chronicle’s Chron.com, called “This Forgotten Day in Houston,” followed by “This Forgotten Day in San Francisco,” in partnership with SFGate.com. Other iterations are currently in development.
Hearst Digital Studios, headed up in Los Angeles by former Principato-Young Entertainment digital executive Corey Moss, is the original online programming and production arm of the media giant. Other projects include “What You Missed and What Just Happened,” hosted by Nikki Boyer and Nick Paschal, which is circulated across Hearst newspaper and TV affiliate sites and social pages.
