Whistle Sports has hired Bob Ciosek as its new chief creative officer. In the role, the executive will be responsible for leading the company’s creative strategies and research initiatives to better understand the minds of existing and new fans.
“Our digital community continues to grow and we wanted to ensure we had the expertise at hand to create content that is both authentic to our core audience and presented opportunities for engagement with brands,” Whistle Sports co-founder and CEO John West said in a statement. “Bob’s extensive knowledge and research on the younger generations are essential to our core offerings.”
Ciosek comes to Whistle Sports from Bold Studios, a sports and media consulting firm he launched. At Bold Studios, he developed creative media assets and consulted for clients such as ABC, ESPN, and Fox Sports. He’s also credited for creating and developing an online consumer research tool to better understand viewing habits.
“Audience interaction and viewing habits have always been areas I find fascinating and the opportunity to shape content in service of an audience is always a challenge,” said Ciosek. “With Whistle Sports’ active online community and strong roster of digital superstars, I look forward to creatively integrating brands into the center of these conversations.”
Launching its YouTube network in early 2014, Whistle Sports now commands a multi-platform digital network dedicated to creating content for and engaging young sports fans. It has more than 280 channel partners, ranging from pro leagues to digital-native creators, and claims an aggregate reach of more than 75 million fans.
