Raindance Web Fest, the digital video spin-off of the U.K.-based Raindance Film Festival, announced today a new series of events aimed at teaching core skill sets to emerging creators in the online video space in partnership with Creative Skillset.
The event, branded as streaMART, will be held as part of Web Fest at the Mayfair Hotel in London on the mornings of September 25, 26 and 27. Part networking event and part crash course, the event is designed to fill perceived skills deficits in emerging filmmakers, screenwriters and creators by allowing them to interact with and learn from representatives of major video platforms, MCNs, commissioners, content distributors and co-production partners.
YouTube, Film4 Digital, New Form Digital, Videojug Networks, Channelflip, BBC Comedy, Victorious, Dailymotion, Maker Studios and Endemol Beyond will all be represented at the event. The morning events will focus on the preliminaries of the digital video industry providing a primer for emerging creators.
Raindance has made developing emerging talent a priority in the past. In addition to offering networking opportunities for new creators, the web fest will once again team with Dailymotion to identify and nurture promising web series creators through its web series pilot competition.
