Project Greenlight Digital Studios announced on Thursday that it has formed an advisory board that includes talent from both the traditional and digital media worlds, including production designer-turned-director Catherine Hardwicke (“Twilight,” “Thirteen”) and Funny or Die head of production Mike Farah.
Project Greenlight Digital Studios was launched in November by Adaptive Studios in conjunction Pearl Street Films and Miramax, the producers of HBO’s “Project Greenlight” series. Its goal is to find creative opportunities for emerging filmmakers through ongoing competitions and other channels, including a marketplace where brands can engage with talent, and access to representation and multi-platform distribution opportunities.
It recently mounted the filmmaking competition #GetTheGreenlight and “The New Normal” writing contest.
The advisory board will provide mentorship to talent participating in Project Greenlight Digital Studio programs. In addition to Hardwicke and Farah, the board includes:
Tamara Krinsky, actress, host and writer (“Emma Approved).
Patric Verrone, producer (“Futurama) and former WGA President.
Wendy Calhoun, producer (“Empire,” “Nashville”).
Shannon McIntosh, producer(“The Hateful Eight”).
Sarah “Sully” Ullman, digital media expert (“The Jungle”).
Melissa Silverstein, Indiewire’s Women & Hollywood blog creator.
Emily Best, founder of Seed & Spark.
Mark Ordesky, executive VP of production for New Line Cinema and executive producer of “Lord of the Rings.”
Jane Fleming, producer and co-CFO of Women in Film International.
Kelly Edwards, VP of talent development & programming at HBO.
Franklin Leonard, founder of The Black List.
Erica Oyama, creator of “Burning Love.”
Luisa Leschin, executive producer and writer (“Just Add Magic,” “East Los High”).
Luke Ryan, producer and creative executive (“Hot Tub Time Machine”).
Allie Esslinger, producer, founder of Section II.
“The members on the advisory board were hand-picked to give our creative community more avenues into Hollywood,” said Perrin Chiles, CEO of Adaptive Studios, in a statement. “From working on Academy Award-winning films to producing viral digital videos seen all over the world, our advisory board represents some of the best and brightest in the entertainment business today.”
