OwnZones announced today that independent multi-platform distributor Cinedigm will be creating channels for its streaming video platform, Ownzones.com, starting with one for ConTV, Cinedigm’s OTT service targeting the comic con community.
Launched in 2010, OwnZones offers a customized distribution and programming service, along with a proprietary technology platform that can be used to create bespoke branded SVOD destination sites. In the past, it has partnered with celebrity influencers such as chef Aarti Sequeira, fitness experts Obi Obadike, Jennifer Nicole Lee, Janis Saffell and Basheera Ahmad and celebrity stylist Ali Levine, as well as high profile media brands including Reuters, Variety, The Guardian, CineSport, The Motley Fool and What’s Trending.
In addition to the consumer-facing Ownzones.com, the company’s media network includes T-Mobile’s Binge On, Amazon’s add-on subscriptions, Opera TV and Flipps.
Cinedigm has two other OTT channels: Docurama, dedicated to documentaries, and the faith and family-friendly Dove Channel. All three offer ad-supported (AVOD) content, as well as a $4.99 a month subscription option featuring ad-free viewing and access to premium content.
