Hip hop entrepreneur Damon Dash, who co-founded Roc-a-Fella Records with Jay-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke in 1995, is entering the streaming video space with Dame Dash TV, an over-the-top (OTT) channel from FilmOn.TV Networks and his company Dame Dash Studios that will exploring such verticals as business, travel, music (both hip hop and rock and roll), comedy, fashion and “the good life.”
In addition to his work with Roc-a-Fella Records (which launched the career of Kanye West), Dash has owned several apparel lines including Rachel Roy and Poppington, and written, directed and produced movies, including Kevin Hart’s big screen debut “Paper Soldiers” (2002). He also produced director Lee Daniels’s first two films, “The Woodsman” and “Shadow Boxer.” Currently, he can be seen on the BET docu-series “Music Moguls,” along with Birdman, Snoop Dogg and Jermaine Dupri.

Founded in 2007, FOTV Media Networks owns an interrelated group of digital media companies that produce and/or distribute hologram, virtual reality, 360-degree and premium content globally with an OTT audience of more than 75 million monthly unique users.
FOTV’s previous hip hop-related efforts have included live streams of Hot97’s SummerJam and concerts by Chief Keef, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Akon and Rihanna, and its Hologram USA FOTV Productions is currently producing a hologram show focusing on the life and music of Big Pun.
At launch, Dame Dash TV’s programming lineup includes:
“The Dame Dash Show”: An informational show with lessons on how to succeed in business.
“Black Rock”: A docu-series about the making of the Dash-produced album “Black Rock,” featuring indie rock artists including The Black Keys, Raekwon the Chef, Q-tip and Jim Jones.
“Intelligent BOSS Moves”: Dash and Dr. Boyce Watkins provide a blueprint for running your business.
“Went to China”: The first in a series of travel shows in which Dash and guests go in search of like-minded individuals in countries around the world.
“International Grizzly”: A travel show in which Dash loads up a private jet with special guests and heads to global music and fashion capitals such as Amsterdam, Milan and Paris.
“Hip Hop Motivation”: A show hosted by Dash and Kenyatta Griggs with guests such as Cam’ron and boxer Andre Berto.
“The Secret to Ballin”: The hip hop and business world’s most successful artists and execs guide viewers on how to achieve their dreams. Guests include Snoop Dogg, Redman, Kelly Rowlands, Faith Evans and Chris Brown and more.
“Mixed Nuts”: Sketch and stand-up comedy hosted by Smokey Suarez (“Paper Soldiers,” “State Property,” “Criminal Minds”).
