BlackPills entered the market a year ago as a French-based buyer of content with a big vision for funding and distributing edgy, short-form, mobile-first video. With a budget that was rumored to be around $50 million, the stealth business has quietly launched its own distribution platform and is starting to announce its first projects.
Today, the company has resurfaced as a co-producer of a format called “PillowTalk”, in conjunction with award-winning production house Pulse Films, and set for exclusive distribution on Vice’s channel on the platform.
The series premiered today and marks the first project from a development and production pact between Vice, Pulse Films and blackpills, earlier this year.
A “comedy about a sex-obsessed bachelor in search of spiritual enlightenment”, “Pillow Talk” was created by Mike Piscitelli (“God Bless Ozzy Osbourne”) and Rachael Taylor (“Jessica Jones”) and stars Patrick J. Adams (“Suits”).
