Pocket.watch, a children-focused multi-platform media startup, has just added a new weapon to its arsenal — Butch Hartman, the creator of the Nickelodeon shows such as “Fairly Odd Parents,” “Danny Phantom,” “T.U.F.F. Puppy” and “Bunsen Is a Beast.”
Hartman is under a three year, non-exclusive deal with pocket.watch and will create three new series for the platform, all which are currently in development. One will be based on an original idea by Hartman, another is based on an original idea from pocket.watch’s existing development slate, and the third will feature the cast from HobbyKidsTV, which signed on as the startup’s first creator partner.
Additionally, Hartman is being named senior creative consultant. In the role, he will provide creative input for the startup’s digital channels, creator partnerships, and premium content.
Pocket.watch’s target audience is kids 2-11. The company’s investors include Allen DeBevoise’s Third Wave Digital; UTA; CBS chairman and CEO Leslie Moonves; film producer Jon Landau; Robert Downey Jr.’s Downey Ventures; Chris Jacquemin, head of digital media at WME; and Defy Media CEO Matt Diamond.
