“House of Cards”’ love affair with the creative industry continues as the Directors Guild of America has nominated David Fincher for his work on episode one of the first season of Netflix’s political drama. Fincher, who has previously been nominated by the DGA for several of his feature films, will compete in the Dramatic Series category against the likes of Bryan Cranston and Vince Gilligan, both of whom got nominated for “Breaking Bad,” and David Nutter, who was nominated for directing the Red Wedding episode of HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”
The 66th annual DGA Awards dinner will take place Saturday, January 25, in Los Angeles. The program will be hosted by comedian and actress Jane Lynch.
