Felicia Day’s Geek & Sundry and Bryan Singer’s Bad Hat Harry are launching a new supernatural comedy series on Hulu and YouTube.
“Spooked,” as it’s titled, will follow a team of paranormal investigators who scour haunted locations around the country, trying to help people deal with annoying ghosts, aliens, and “other unexplainable happenings.” The first episode focuses on the ghost-hunters investigating a poltergeist determined to ruin his daughter’s gay marriage.
The cast is headlined by Julian Curtis (“Captured”), Ashley Johnson (“The Killing”), Neil Grayston (“Eureka”), Derek Mio (“Greek”), and Shyloh Oostwald (“In Time”). Guest stars will include Dichen Lachman (“Dollhouse”) and Alison Haislip (“Shameless”), who appear in the first episode, as well as Tom Lenk (“Cabin in the Woods”), Constance Wu (“Covert Affairs”), and Nancy Linehan Charles (“The Stepfather”) later on in the series.
Geek & Sundry’s last show, “Caper,” was also available on Hulu, where it has a branded channel alongside other online networks like Base79, Clevver, Crackle, DramaFever, NowThis News, among many, many others.
“Spooked,” which was first announced last year at San Diego Comic-Con, is executive produced by Bryan Singer (“X-Men”) and Felicia Day (“The Guild”), written by Michael Gene Conti (“Devil’s Trade”), and directed by Richard Martin (“Light Years”).
Season will consist of four TV-sized (22-minute) episodes, which will begin premiering on a weekly basis on April 16, at 1pm ET.
