Small Screen has signed the national public television program, “Pedal America.” Per the deal, Small Screen will exclusively distribute the cycling and travel series online while American Public Television and WTTW in Chicago will continue to broadcast the show on TV.
“This is exactly what I’ve been working toward in terms of expanding our digital presence and reach to Pedal America’s sponsorship partners,” stated Ira David Levy, the show’s host and executive producer. “Plus, we receive many requests for our show from fans who simply don’t own televisions because they’re too busy being active outdoors.”
“Pedal America” is produced by Out-Write Media LLC and promotes bicycle tourism. It broadcasts on Public TV and the Create TV network. However, this doesn’t prevent it from premiering on the internet.
“What’s especially beneficial is that APT no longer requires us to wait two years after the broadcast of a new season to distribute digitally,” Levy further described in a statement. Small Screen can begin distributing the show online right after it debuts on television.
Small Screen began digitally distributing video in 2007. The worldwide video network produces original shows as well as featuring content from other creators.
