Following the great success of Golden Globe-winning “Transparent,” Amazon has revealed its next awards-show darling — potentially. Amazon Studios, the e-giant’s original programming arm, is partnering with Woody Allen, who will write and direct a new series for Amazon Prime Instant Video.
Currently called “Untitled Woody Allen Project,” the series will consist of half-hour episodes…thought not much else is known about it, thus far. Its the film legend’s first TV series, ever.
Said Allen in a statement, “I don’t know how I got into this. I have no ideas and I’m not sure where to begin. My guess is that Roy Price will regret this.”
Allen’s series, which Price will unlikely regret as Allen’s name alone should draw viewers, will be available to Amazon Prime Instant Video users in the US, UK, and Germany whenever it comes out.
