Forge Apollo, an LA-based production company and YouTube channel, has launched a new indie series on YouTube.
The sci-fi thriller “Ambient” follows a ragtag group of hackers who try to save the world from a computer virus that kills humans via an ambient sound wave. The series stars Forge Apollo co-founder Ryan Holloway, Caleb Ruminer (“Finding Carter”), Jareb Dauplaise (“The Hard Times of RJ Berger”), Allegra Lucchesi, and Tim Colceri (“Full Metal Jacket”).
The series was created by Forge Apollo co-founders Holloway and Gabe Michael, a former producer on a few hit digital series including the Maker Studios-affiliated “Epic Rap Battles of History” and Defy Media’s “Man at Arms.” It was written by Rob Kotecki and Michael, directed by Michael, and produced by Michael, Holloway, and Taylor Thompson.
Premiering today, the series will be available for free across YouTube and Pluto TV. Forge Apollo says it’s also testing out the TVOD model by selling all five episodes of the series for purchase or rent on Vimeo. For super-fans, the company’s website offers a “survivor kit,” which includes all episodes, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, hand-written notes from the characters, and a survival guide and gear.
