The film, a coming-of-age drama, follows four teenage friends over a period of 24 hours as they try to complete the “Shovel List,” a bucket list left by their best friend before he died of leukemia. Along the way, the quarter learn more about themselves, their own relationships, and the true meaning of friendship.
While not cast yet, the film is likely to be packed with online talent. The script was brought to Big Frame co-president Larry Shapiro by Film 360 for that purpose.
AwesomenessTV, of course, has been pretty active on this front, most recently producing “Expelled,” a high-school comedy starring Cameron Dallas and a stable of other YouTube and Vine stars. “Expelled” premiered via digital VOD on December 16, and quickly rose to the top of the iTunes movie charts.
Set to enter production in the first half of 2015, “Shovel List” will be directed by British commercial directing team Si & Ad (Simon Atkinson and Adam Townley). Producers include AwesomenessTV’s Brian Robbins and Shauna Phelan (“Expelled”), Big Frame’s Larry Shapiro, Film 360’s Dean Schnider and Ben Forkner, and Ali Itri, who’s an independent producer on the movie.
The deal was brokered by Big Frame. Hellerman is repped by Management 360, Verve, and Carlos Goodman, a partner at Bloom, Hergott, Diemer, Rosenthal, LaViolette & Feldman, LLP. Si & Ad are repped by WME and Grandview.
Film 360 is currently in production on Danny Boyle’s “Steve Jobs” at Universal, and has “The Gallows” coming out in July through New Line/Warner Bros.
