It’s been noted how the subscription video-on-demand market is getting increasingly cluttered. Now, TrainerPass, a new workout streaming destination from CBS Interactive, is joining the trend. With multiple membership options priced from $4.99 to $6.99, TrainerPass will offer mobile and desktop access to hundreds of workout videos from well-known and celebrity fitness trainers like Andrea Metcalf, Baron Baptiste, Ellen Barrett, Jennifer Galardi and Kristin McGee.
According to CBS Interactive Media’s VP and GM David Katz, CBSi has “utilized [its] proprietary, cutting edge tools to power TrainerPass and create a unique marketplace model for fitness.”
CBSi isnt the first digital media business to try its hand at streaming fitness videos. Hulu was offering DailyBurn, a streaming platform that offers daily and VOD fitness videos from a catalog of fitness experts. The service is now stand-alone at a price point of $12.95 per month. Aside from DailyBurn, there are other independent verticals being powered by companies like VHX in yoga and other targeted fitness categories. YouTube also has a strong offering of fitness videos, which are available for free.
