Monster Musume is widely known as the “Everyday Life With Monster Girls” is one of the most revered series in the fantasy genre whose creator is Tatsuya Yoshihara. A rip-off from a manga called Okayado in Japanese, the show saw the initial release back in 2015.
A Peek Into The Storyline
The mythical creatures and their existence was kept hidden by the Japanese government as showcased at the very beginning. These included the angels, herpes, centaurs, and the lamias. The revelation led the Japanese government to take note and pass an act classified as the act for a cultural exchange involving the interspecies. An exception was made for the liminal with an allowance to live with the humans.
The story is centered around Kimihito, who is a student and whose life is intertwined alongside liminals. The program involving the exchange of interspecies led Kimihito to share space with multiple female creatures.
The first addition included Miia, a snake girl. The list got longer with the inclusion of several other liminals. These included poppy, a bird girl, Centorea, a horse girl to many more. The plan was directed at the mythical creatures for them to feel like being in home residing alongside humans. But it took a major turn as the show progressed. Kimihito had a lot of fan following with every female vowing to love him.
The series got even more intense when the exchange coordinator, Kuroko, laid down guidelines for the exchanges of the interspecies. This included not vilifying any female’s purity and neither hurting them. Where any breach would lead to arrests and the liminals getting deported.
Casting Choices We Can Expect
The show saw several twists which included Kimihito being subjected to being treated as a test case. The plot further delved deep into highlighting Kimihito’s dilemma. This is where he is asked to marry any female species under his charge, all who vied for his attention.
Hence season 2 is expected to have an additional dose of drama and fans cannot wait to see how this unique plotline is unraveled through the series. The focal point of the show is the relationship between humans and the liminal. That is set to be tested again in the second season.
Kimihito Kurusu is set to return as the protagonist of the show, while the other characters will see no major changes. The second season of the much-loved show will also include Papi, Miia, Centorea, Mero, Suu, Rachnera, Lala, Ms. Smith, and Doppel. Speculations are surrounding the star cast having an addition in the form of zombies.
When Can We Expect The Release
The show is yet to get any trailers confirming the sequel and neither there is any official announcement. The fans have been waiting with anticipation ever since. There are assumptions on the show returning by the end of 2021 or by the first half of 2022.
The relationship portrayed between the humans and the liminal formed the central theme of the anime series. This had the audience hooked to the show. The availability of enough source material has kept the hope alive since the original manga is up for a comeback by November 2021.
